Artist Description
Hot on the Heels of a sellout show with CHAIN the South west Blues Club launches into action again with a West Australian Blues Showcase – featuring Bunbury born KNiKi and Band with special guest Mike Beale from ‘Men in Blues’ and first up on the night blues club house band and South West blues stalwarts Home Brew.
KNiKi arrived in the world somewhere near Bunbury, Western Australia. Delivered by her father, she was born blue and raised in Perth. Her love of music was spiked at the age of fourteen when she started singing lessons with a small local music academy. KNiKi’s signature sound is hauntingly powerful. Constantly seeking to expand her impressive vocal range, KNiKi’s original music is expansive and thought provoking as she takes her listeners on a journey of contemplation and self-discovery.
It was just a chance email early in 2009 that introduced Perth based blues singer KNiKi with Gold Coast based guitarist/frontman of Men in Blues fame Mike Beale. Since then the two have had an amazing musical collaboration. The combination of Mike’s shredding blues vocal and explosive guitar, with KNiKi’s powerful, soulful and yet expressive voice has left crowds desperate for more. KNiKi’s second album JUST was released in August 2008 at the Perth Blues Club, backed by John Meyer’s Blues Express Band. Currently, KNiKi and Meyer are writing KNiKi’s third Blues album yet to be titled. More at: www.kniki.com
