South West Blues Club

The committee has made a decision to postpone the next Jam Session and the AGM that was to have been held in August. In light of the worsening Covid situation, the health and well being of members and the wider public are paramount. We had a large turnout for the July jam with reports that there are growing numbers of our membership now with covid. Few people were wearing masks, and it is almost impossible to socially distance in a crowded room. We will wait for the current covid and flu wave to subside and hope to resume our activities in September. It is regrettable to have to curtail these two events and we apologise for any inconvenience. Your health is important and we ask everyone to stay safe.

Just a reminder that this is the last jam before the end of month Blue Murder night and you can get your tickets at the July Jam. Member tickets are FREE and non members are just $15 for a big night of suspense and hilarity. This is our mid winter jam so get along for all of the fun and fantastic music. Once again you have the chance to win two cracker raffles. A big shout out to those members who helped out with the break down and pack up last month. It makes it so much easier when there are more hands to the pump. If you can make it to the venue by 1pm then you can help with the set up as well. It means you also get your name on the board early in the session. See you there.

The first ‘Blues in the Brook’ was an absolute smash. Two South West Blues Club’s bands played to a full house at the iconic Donnybrook Hotel. This is a terrific venue and the second show promises to be another ripper. Dave Tiger will be trotting out the golden hits of yesteryear along with Brian Sweetman, one of the South West’s best country blues singers. If you missed the first show, you will not want to miss this one. See you in the Big Apple on the second Sunday in July

There’s a definite nip in the air as winter closes in but all musicians and music lovers will get a big warm welcome at the June Jam. It will be another great afternoon in the River Room at the Parade Hotel overlooking Koombana Bay. Come on down and join us at the biggest and best jam session in the South West. Come to play, to dance or just to listen. Everyone is welcome.

We start our first Blues in the Brook gig at the Donnybrook Hotel Sunday 12 June. Three hours of great blues to rock the Brook and what a way to end the weekend. Get along to this great venue and support your South West Blues Club bands. Blues in the Brook is the second Sunday of every month at the Donnybrook Hotel and it is your chance to hear our bands performing full sets. These balmy Autumn days are perfect jamming weather. Get on down to the Parade for our next Jam Session on the edge of the bay. Catch up with friends, come and play a set or two or just kick back and enjoy four hours of great music.

After many requests we are having another fun night with Enzo and Laura. Sharon will be supervising these two lively characters for our second Quiz night on Saturday 2nd April. It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be unpredictable and it’s going to be organised chaos. What will Enzo and Laura get up to this time for halfway entertainment?
Get your Team together and rsvp by 31st March for catering to Laura or Enzo. Tickets are available at our upcoming Jam Day on Sunday 20th March. Numbers are restricted so get your team tickets early. Non members are most welcome once again at $15 each including pizza.
Covid restrictions will apply for this venue and another date will be advised should we need to cancel. Non member tickets will be refunded or carried forward to the alternative date.

The last Sunday afternoon was Bunbury weather at its best. Outdoors in a warm balmy sea breeze listening to an afternoon of blues with a great turnout of musicians. We had new members sign up and for the first time in a while musicians had a great chance to play multiple sets. The 2022 Member Guitar Pick Key Rings have arrived so you will be able to collect yours on the day. Plus we are running the Meat Pack and Coffee Hamper raffle. There are plenty of reasons to be at the next jam.
