This is the jam where we say farewell to 2024. Musicians, Blues Club members and music lovers are all invited to our end of year Jam Session at Froth Craft Bunbrewery – Bunbury. It’s been a fantastic year, we have made new friends and there are many new club members, so come on down for an afternoon of camaraderie fabulous music and good cheer at Bunbury’s finest music venue. We have a big Christmas Hamper Raffle that includes two tickets to our January Summertime Blues Festival so be in for this one. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Hall. His vision and passion was integral in the founding of the South West Blues Club and Mike led the club for many years as President. May you rest in peace.

Whoah…where did the year go? It only goes to prove that time flies when you’re having fun. So the fun way to take 2024 out in style is to come party at Blues Central on Sunday the 8th. Two fabulous bands. The zany, full noise, all the way from Perth, The Last Avocado, our very own Adam Morrison on harp plus the wonderful vocals of Zoe Merralls. This show will be something real special. Staying with female vocalists, straight after the invitation band we have our own club favourites eNJoy, with Jude Armstrong and Neil Broad to take out the afternoon. It will be a cracker so come on down and have a pre-Christmas de-stress with an afternoon of the blues.

Summertime Blues – Program

It’s official and it’s bigger than Ben Hur. South West Blues Club is proud to announce in conjunction with Froth Craft Bunbrewery – Bunbury the inaugural Summertime Blues – one day Blues Festival right here in Bunbury. Midday until midnight, 10 fabulous blues bands including three South West Blues Club bands. Tickets are just $65 and there are only 300 tickets available so please get your tickets ASAP. If you are a South West Blues Club or Perth Blues Club member you will have been notified of a special price just for you. This will be the best priced boutique blues festival you will ever attend and at the very Home of Blues in Bunbury. Keep an eye on this Facebook page as we release more details about the event as we get closer to January – an official activity of the City of Bunbury’s Summer Lovin’ program. We hope you managed to get to Bridgetown over the weekend and drew inspiration from the big festival of blues. This Sunday it will be your turn to get up on stage and show us what you are made of at the South West Blues Club Jam Session. Come on down, bring a friend and have an absolute blast, playing your stuff, listening to great live music and kicking back with friends.

For those attending Blues at Bridgetown in November, South West Blues Club Band The Resonators will be playing on the Blues Club Stage in the Main Street on Saturday 9th. We continue our long standing support for this great music festival and hope as many club members as possible can get to Blues at Bridgetown. It is bound to be another great weekend of live music.

Just a reminder that there will be NO BLUES CENTRAL in November due to the Blues at Bridgetown festival. As Blues Central falls on the same weekend we encourage club members to support the Bridgetown festival. We will be up and running again in December with a new Perth band, The Last Avocado and our own Dave Tiger and the Allsorts. We will see you all in December with a rip roaring show to take out the year.

These Jams just keep on rolling around. This weekend, the weather should be perfect, the Springtime temperature a balmy 21c, but on stage at Froth Craft Bunbrewery – Bunbury the mercury will be on the rise. Grab your kit and a friend and head on down for the States biggest monthly Jam Session, If you’re not a member, that’s OK you still get to play or listen to an afternoon of live music in great company and at one Bunbury’s finest venues. WOW, WOW and WOW again!!! Yep Whiskey Nips are back in town, with their dizzying pizazz and power. The sensational voice of Kirsty Finn , Blew Drew absolute master of the tin sandwich and the amazing Daniel Wiggins on guitar, plus and plus. We are so excited to have this 5 piece Funk Blues Band back at Blues Central and this time supported by club legends, Something Else. They are playing at Bridgetown this year but why wait when you can hear them at Blues Central. The other rumour is also correct. The Goldfield boys are back, Gaza fronting with powerhouse duo Ric and Steve and you won’t believe it but hard man Brad Mac is back on drums, so this is going to be one epic afternoon.

The South West Blues Club 2024 AGM will be held 12-1pm on 12 October 2024 at Milligan, 35 Milligan Street, Carey Park.

The AGM is an important time for us to come together as a club, reflect on the year that has been and elect our committee and office bearers for the following year.  Please come along to help celebrate what we’ve achieved in 2023/24 and decide upon the structure of our committee for 2024/25.
